I am in an open relationship with myself. If that is selfish—to be deeply in love with my life, deeply committed to myself—then okay. I am blissfully selfish. The only life-long relationship I will ever have is with my own consciousness (and with the universe, which I am inclined to think is the same thing), so I owe it my fullest attention and love. I don’t want to forget this.
