... let's return to the Eiffel Tower, but this time let's have a close up!

The construction of the tower is quite amazing, and one can especially appreciate it from underneath. The whole mass and sheer volume of iron that went into its construction become apparent and it is actually a bit overwhelming.

And yet, it also feels like it is quite light with all of the holes and gaps in its frame. Could you imagine designing this building?! The ingenious construction will probably make this building very long lasting. Who knows, maybe it will even stand in a thousand years?!

Almost like a spider's web the steel beams stretch from one corner to another, connecting the whole building. Good architecture is always inspired by nature and the reason for this is that nature has generally figured out the most efficient and the smartest way of doing things. Another common pattern in architecture is e.g. the hexagon which is found in beehives.

Is there a building in your town or village that has been inspired by nature?
