In faith, my highest priority is God, but in my feelings, my highest priority is myself.
Emotions are caused by feelings, since feelings are what we feel internally after having used our senses. Example: When we are pinched we feel a slight discomfort in the arm and depending on how strong or weak the pinch is, we change the appearance of our face, this is called emotion.
Another example is when we are told in an incorrect way, when we are all spoken badly, the first thing we do is to think how we are going to answer it and if we do not contain ourselves we will express something inappropriate depending on how much your character and your maturity are formed .
When you are a mature person, emotions are very controlled by something called Fear of God that leads us to harvest a fruit of the spirit called PATIENCE.
The feelings are internal, the emotion is the revelation of those feelings. We can not ignore that being happy is an internal feeling and smiling is an emotion caused by that feeling.
People who do not know God describe love as a feeling but the Bible describes love as an attribute of God (1 John 4: 8, James 1: 8).
A characteristic of living by feeling is that we can feel something today and not feel it tomorrow. I have seen many people who are so enthusiastic about studying a career that when they make a decision they take it for a feeling, and it has been the case many times that at the beginning, in the middle or at the end of the career they decide to change, expressing that they never he liked what they were studying.
If it were for the feelings you would never serve God with excellence since you will never feel like praying, reading the word, fasting, preaching his word because you will never feel the will of God, because doing the will of God does not come by feeling but by a decision, that's why the feelings have to be broken. That is why one of the most common problems for which many people do not take the step of faith is because they expect to feel it and time runs out. How do we put feelings under submission? Matthew 16:24. To God be the glory.
