Making fun of myself is almost like a daily thing for me. This time, I wanted to make fun of my old digital art works about around 2015-2016. Let's be honest here, it's not even that old but it's easy to lose track of your progress when you're focusing on improving your skills every single day.
For me at least, my improvement was gold these past few months because of continuous side projects while working on my debut poetry series. But now that that's done, it's time for my side project to be my main project.
Currently, I'm working on my webcomic series, Life in the Junk Drawer, which I'm updating here, on my website and two other webcomics platforms such as Webtoon and Tapastic.
Since creating comics needs an investment of good amount of time and effort (even if it's just some short random comedy comic), your progress is almost as quick as it can get. So now, looking back, even if it's just two to three years ago, you can really see the difference of your current works from the old ones.
Now let's bring back in some old digital art works of mine around 2015-2016.
I can't even begin to express how frigging ridiculous this is. I remember being heavily inspired by Jason Brubaker's ReMIND that I thought I can do exactly what he's doing and where he's at as a comic artist. Turns out...well, you be the judge.
I literally have no idea what color theory is for or what it even is. I mean, creams and browns with digital greens...(facepalm)
And let's not forget about the highlights and shadows...I can't even...

Look who just learned about adding textures...ugh
Even the sky has textures...then the colors: matcha green, chocolate brown and lemon yellow looked okay...but then what's that floaty neon violet thingy doing there?! It's literally catching a lot of unwanted attention.
Ohhh...and my initials at the bottom right looks like a custom font style

Wow, I realized I've been learning about flats for a long time now. Literally, every single subject in this image is a flat object.
It looks a like a stock photo no one wanted to download. A city in a donut.
Okay, okay, last one
At least I got the textures right in this one...I just can't get over the fact that I haven't even finished erasing the excess colors in the edges before saving it. What a jokester
Here's a thing tho: I actually already did some actual initials in this image. No custom font style anymore. That's fresh news
