Hello dear Hive members.In today's post I want to show you a very beautiful and preserved antipite place - the ancient theater in Plovdiv (ancient Philippopolis).
A few weeks ago I was in Plovdiv and visited this city landmark.
This is one of the best preserved ancient Roman theaters in the world and is one of the main tourist attractions of the city. Due to its construction the theater has very good acoustics and to this day is used for concerts and other cultural events. It currently collects about 3500 people and in ancient times collected up to 7,000.
It was built around 90 AD during the reign of Emperor Mark Trajan. It was discovered during archeological excavations between 1968 and 1979.
The place is worth a visit. Here we can fully immerse ourselves in history and imagine how people lived millennia before us. Thanks to the people who discovered and those who maintain this place.
