She sat by the river bank
Twitching her fingers
Sipping her tears, as they came trickling down
Her eyes beclouded by pain
She dug her toes deep in the murky waters
As she clutched the sand and let them slip through her fingers
And as the clouds made way for the black moon to appear
She stared at the sky
Longing for dawn.
