I have finaly found some time to get started on a new sculpture. With a full work schedule and more creeping in, it's a bit hard, but once the wireframe is done I can add bits when I have a few hours to spare. Hopefuly she'll be ready by the end of the month.
Plenty of ideas for new pieces though and wondering if I should re-introduce copper to the sculptures? It's not the easiest material to work with, but the colour effect you get with it is very satisfying.
Like here with Callisto, which I made in 2008.
Callisto was sent to a gallery in Berlin for a show and remained there for a year. During that time, someone managed to spill a soft drink over the base, which worked its way through the varnish and started eating away at the steel.
I got her back home but failed to completely remove the stains, so I made a new base for her.
In 2012 I shipped her to Copenhagen, Denmark for a group exhibition at a Cultural Center, where she found a new home.
She's always been one of my favorites.
