We are to acknowledge our sin to God not to the priest.

He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.
In catholic is like the prayer receiver that is not right.
