It is so hot in Athens, Greece, as I don't remember being anytime in the past! Especially in the center of the city the cement and the concrete make life much more difficult. I don't know how the elderly cope but it is quite easy to imagine!
Tourists that are not used to this weather and are fearless get sunburnt and end up in hospitals, not to mention the worst.
If you are visiting warm places during summer, stay protected between the hours 12.00-16.00, try to get hydrated, carry an umbrella and a hat and do minimum effort! Don't climb up the Acropolis in midday - it is a torture!
Also if you have access to sea shores, take long swims and use a sunscreen. Don't stay in the beach for longhours - it is exhaustive! Try to hang around in places with good air-conditioning and plenty of water. Don't drink alcohol and don't eat heavily and then lay under the sun. It will be a nightmare!
Ahhh where is the snow when you need it the most???? 😁
Enjoy!
