I think that a registration fee is generally a bad idea. Since most dApps are free it could be harmful to user take-up for the dApp and for Steem in general. 

The exception would be something like Steemmonsters where the fees paid actually purchase something for the users.

In addition fees can be levied from users through the beneficiary percentage cut.

Other, more suitable ways to support your favourite dApps are:

• Use them! - help their user metrics grow and push them up the dApp top 50 table.
• Vote on posts created on the dApp -  this adds to the dApps economy and incentivises other users to use the dApp too.
• Promote them on Steemit and other social media.
• If they are open source contribute to their development on Utopian.
• Delegate to them.
• Join their discord community.
• Make suggestions and reviews for how they can be improved.
• Provide your own special skills - for example artwork or copywriting - to help out.

We can all do something to help the Steem dApps grow!
