We are celebrating the festival of lights, Diwali, here in India today and I would like to wish everyone here on Steemit the same.
That isn't a great picture by any measure but it looks much greater in person than in this photo. That is of the balcony of ours and how we have put up lights, artifical ones, to light up the place. This is actually much brighter than it appears so here.
However about an hour in, it started raining heavily and alas, I had to switch off the light as it wouldn't be safe to have the lights running with the wires and plugpoints all outside and exposed to the heavy rain lashing out at all.
We did have a plan of going out in the evening for a walk to see the decorations around us and to watch all the apartment balconies lit up with their own decoration. Now that too seems not a possiblity.
As I type this now, rain has stopped but still the above two would not be attempted.
It is a happy day for more reasons than one and we all have such great prosperous and healthy happy days ahead.
