The right gets upset at corporations when they go woke, while the left comes to the defense of any corporations that go woke. Meanwhile those corporations are giving the right diabetes and cancer, but the right doesn't care about that. All they get upset about is that the company “went woke.” Likewise those companies are destroying the environment, but the left doesn't care about that because “at least they're woke.” So they support the company.
An example is Coca-Cola, which is growing mono-crop GMO corn, destroying the environment to create high fructose corn syrup drinks that give people diabetes. The left and right should both be upset at Coca-Cola for the same reasons, but instead they're distracted by the culture war. And Coca-Cola is just one example. The big banks are screwing over Americans equally, as are big pharma.
Americans will gladly support corporations that ravage the environment and give them cancer and diabetes, so long as the company is woke or not woke. As long as they “support black lives” and pander with a pride flag, or as long as they “support the troops” and pander with an American flag, then these mindless consumers on both the left and right will consume themselves to death. The culture war is a useful distraction from the real harm these corporations are causing us all.
