I present the glass jar of juicy wine.
It all started with a bottle of pure heaven. I woke up at noon craving something sweet and cool because the day was hot and I had already exhausted all the liquid I had to give. So I asked my sisters if they would like to join me and drink the sacred wine (sacred because it was subtly馃槈 suggested馃榾 that we not drink it) but I'm the second in command and I think I had enough right to waive the suggestion. So I brought out the chilled bottle of wine with some Palm oil rice. I took a few spoons, then set about with the task of opening the wine.
I removed the outer layer thinking it was the normal wine I knew. To my greatest surprise, I saw the cork completely inserted into the neck of the bottle. I turned the bottle round and round thinking maybe, there is some secret mechanism on the outside to open the bottle. No such luck. See, I was used to wines that you just open and uncork with your fingers, I never quite got the point of a wine opener or such.... Isn't it easier to open wines that don't need corkscrews馃槖馃槖馃槖 but of course they won't stop production because of me.
So back to the story, I like to think of myself as a little smart馃憣 so I found myself a knife and proceeded to stick it into the cork to see if I could pull it out. This i did to the indignation of my sisters. When that only served to push the cork further into the wine, we remembered that there is such an invention as YouTube. Thank God for you tube. We watched 6 different ways of opening a corked bottle. From using a nail and hammer to screwing in a knife and trying to pull it out.... None of which worked. In the process, we absolutely destroyed the cork then we tried hitting the bottle on the wall using a shoe. What did we not do? 馃槖馃槖馃槖
well guess what, we finally took the advice of someone in the comments down below the video that said, I quote "just push the damn cork into the bottle" and that my friends is what we did. I shall not bore you with the details of how bitter the wine turned out to be (I was craving something sweet) nor shall I regale you with the tale of how the wine mixing went wrong because it did馃槨. We were left with a glass jar of wine and juice which truth be told is still hanging in the freezer with its other friends馃槒馃槒
Anyway, the long and short of the story is that I had to eat up my rice like that with not even some cold water to wash it down. Life's unfair. And that is the end of my sad tale.
PS. Someone please tell the wineries to cork their wines right. 馃槩
