Wildlife can be somewhat unpredictable to say the least at best of times. Hence why keeping your distance and giving these wildlife animals some space to go about their daily lives. However, sometimes they come into your space, whether because they are curious or simply feel comfortable enough to come a bit closer than they should to continue on their day.
Here we were on the Falkland Islands at a nesting site for Black-Browed Albatross, whom have mastered the classic smokey eye look. These huge birds have no problem approaching you as you sit near their nests to watch them glide, squabble at one another and welcome their respective partners in a little dance routine, as they return from foraging in the nearby coastal waters. This big guy decided to come over and say hi and as a result my 100-400mm lens I was currently using was way too big to even have half the bird in the frame. Love it!
