Penguins are known as flightless birds but when you see them move in the water that kind of isn't true. I was lucky enough to come across a huge raft of Gentoo penguins yesterday morning, which were hunting in the water column. After we got there I shut the engines off and they were swimming all around us and under the vessel in a relaxed state, which was beyond moving for myself and the guests I had on board.
I was taking a heap of underwater go pro footage, which I took a frame of last night when I went through all of my footage - about 10 minutes of it! Here is a little snap shot of what I got to experience on the Antarctic peninsula yesterday at a place called Useful Island.
