Bear viewing on the Canadian west coast is by far some of the best in the world. Especially, if you are after Spirit bears, being that they are primarily found in only a small region on the west coast of Canada in the Great Bear Rainforest. During the salmon spawning season, these bears will wander down to parts of the river in search salmon that are swimming up stream to spawn.
In this river system, it is pink salmon that the bears are feeding on and geez do they eat. Salmon after salmon and at times only eating a small part of the salmon then moving onto another one before going back to the one they were previously eating. Not too sure of their methods but at the end of the day, its all about the feast and it is great to see when they have an almost endless supply of salmon.
