Meet Boss, he is a large adult Spirit Bear, whom we think is about 15 years of age or so.. We actually do not know his exact age but from talking to some of the locals whom have spent their lives near this bear's home, we believe it is a good rough estimate. Anyhow, regardless of his apparent age, one thing is certain when the salmon are running it is time to feast on everything. Lucky thing is that there is no shortage of pink salmon in the river this past season.
As a result I got to witness the big guy feasting up and down along the river with little to regards/acknowledgement of our presence on the river bank. I know for certain that he was aware we were there but had little to no cares in the world as he snacked on pink salmon after pink salmon.
Seriously though, get a look at the size of those claws that simply would instantly strip the flesh off the bone of every salmon he grabbed. It was nothing short of impressive to watch time and time again.
