This is an Adelie penguin, the smallest of the brush tail species that you can frequently encounter on the Antarctic peninsula. Typically, these guys will make their way to the breeding grounds around October - November. Prepare their nests, find/rekindle the flame of their partner and start to make babies/eggs.
Eggs though aren't typically laid until early late November/early December, which is the usually the warmest time in Antarctica. The two partners will take turns incubating the eggs until the egg or eggs hatch. This can be quite the normal sight during the incubation period with one parent carefully looking after their egg while the other is off foraging for food in the coastal region.
