Who would have thought that penguins enjoy standing in the snow as much as some of us do? I was exploring an area on the Antarctic Peninsula earlier this year before it all went into a global lockdown and came across an iceberg with some Gentoo Penguins on it. At the time is was really coming down with snow, which can make life a tad difficult when it comes to looking for animals and your visibility in general.
Once we floated close by and watched these guys it became apparent that they were enjoying standing there in the snow. Every once in a while one of them would look up to the sky and open their beak to try to catch some snow in their mouth. Here you thought that only humans did such a thing in the snow... Nope, so not only are they cute but they seem to have more adorable qualities than first thought.
