It is usually not that known that a lot of penguin species actually lay two eggs per breeding cycle. So it is common to see not just one but two chicks standing in front of one of their parents during the summer season in Antarctica.

However, it is also common to only see one chick with their parent during the summer season too. This is simply due to the nature of the wild. Predators lurk not too far away either in the water close by or circling above waiting for the opportunity for a meal, as those predators have young babies to feed as well. It is definitely a constant struggle but it looks like it is worth it when you see little sights like this from time to time.
