The breeding cycle in Antarctica is a really small window of time where the weather and food availability is good enough. This allows thousands of animals and all the species to breed, look after the little ones and then leave them to allow nature to takes its course.
It might seem harsh but that is the reality of these animals and the way in which they live their lives. However, over a course of a few months you are able to watch penguins build a nest, find a mate, lay 2 eggs, eggs hatch, chicks grow then fledge and before you know it you are unable to even tell the chicks and the parents apart from one another... Impressive to say the least!
