At times there is little to nothing more captivating than watching 2 young elephant seals fight in the shallow coast waters on the South Shetland Islands. These young fellows are in a constant state of being aggressive towards one another. Slamming into each other, using their powerful jaws to bite and take chunks out of each other in an attempt to show who is the dominant seal on the beach.
However, it can be amusing, as they aren't exactly the most agile of creatures, especially when they are juveniles. As a result, you tend to see certain images like this one. Where I have somehow timed it remarkably well, highlighting the rolls in the neck and the facial expression of one seal being bitten. Still makes me laugh to this day, as I did take this photo late January, 2018.
