Well, the penguins have laid their eggs and have been incubating them for a few weeks now, which meant we were getting close to when we would see some penguin chicks. The time is now - I was really stoked to see my first penguin chicks a few days ago when I was zodiac cruising near Useful island on the Antarctic peninsula.
These Gentoo chicks were very young and at this age they will stay up against one of their parents to keep warm and constantly being feed as they grow. Soon though they will leave the safety of their parents and enter their natural world and all the potential predators lurking in the sky and around the shoreline. Lets hope these little guys get the chance to grow up and have little chicks of their own in the future
