Bubble net feeding is a unique group feeding behaviour that various humpback populations display around the world. Most dominantly this behaviour has been observed and studied along the west coast of North America. Firstly, being observed in the waters of Alaska and slowly this behaviour has been progressing down the west coast into Canada.
These days it can be seen quite frequently in the Great Bear Rainforest during the summer foraging season. The largest group I have observed over the last few seasons has been 4 individual humpbacks participating in this group feeding behaviour. It is beyond a special moment to watch these guys feed in such a team-work based environment.
