Baby penguin chicks are everywhere at the moment down on the Antarctic Peninsula, which always means a great opportunity to capture some adorable baby penguin photos. These are Gentoo penguin and you can see how big the chicks are already in mid-January, which is pretty damn cute to see.
One thing that no photo can ever truly capture is the smell of what a colony is like - it isn't the greatest of smells and quite distinct. You know it when you smell it but their awkward waddling around and adorable stature makes up for that strong smell factor. Hope this picture makes some of you smile today - I know it makes me smile to take such photos whilst down in this part of the world
