This image I took about a year ago, whilst myself and my colleague, whom is on the vessel in the picture, encountered a Gray whale. The colours of a west coast sunset began and before we knew it we were surrounded in unreal fiery colours that captivated everyone on board. It distracted everyone so intensely that for a moment it stole the show from the whale itself.
The sky appeared to be on fire for a brief moment - less than 10 minutes later that gold colour had disappeared.
