Introduction
Maybe you remember my craft tutorial for a magic wand? My daughter asked Santa for a magic wand and was hoping to get one really bad. I decided to make one for her, in case you're curious, here's the link to the tutorial. After that post, I changed the name to Wise Tutorials.
But my daughter had a burning request ever since she received her magic wand: a crown! So I told her I'd make her one but then she forgot about it, and so did I. Yesterday it was crystal clear that the time had come for me to create one for her, because she was almost in tears seeing another crown in the store because she wanted it so badly. I promised her that I'd make one today and so I did.
Luckily, I found some thicker felt this time, making it a bit easier to cut out the felt in the needed pattern. This craft is super simple, and you can change the colors and add stones if you like to have a fancy crown. My daughter requested a matching one, so I left out the rhinestones this time.
Recommended tools and supplies
I will mention what I used for this crown, but you can also use needle and thread only, or only glue the parts together. Whatever you find easier or works for you.
- Headband
- Scissors
- Glue gun
- Needle
- Thread
- 3 Colors of felt
- Paper to cut out a template
- Pencil
- Cotton wool (if you wish to fill the crown)
Instructions
I will share the step by step process including pictures below:

Conclusion
It was a fun craft to do, and totally custom made because it needed to match my daughter's magic wand. She is very happy with it and of course wants to wear the crown constantly. So I guess mission accomplished!
If you are creating your own version and want to share it, feel free to leave a comment, I'd love to see your creation!
See you in the next tutorial!
