Not the perfect beach
Remember that I said we aren't really going to the beach as I twisted my knee the first day of our stay here more than a year ago? We stuck to the boulevard walks where I'd not have accidental strange movements and hurt my knee again. But every time that we walked on the boulevard, I longed for a dip in the water because it looks so refreshing.
There's no need for the sea when we have a pool honestly, but we don't. And then we finally found that pool a little drive from here, the freaking only one, who only allows 10 people from outside their tiny village. After two attempts in the weekend, we gave up because fuel is not free and the disappointment was way too big for our daughter when we were (again) refused the second time. And the worst thing was that we were just an inch too late, it's exactly the family in front of us who were the last ones to go in, sigh.
Daddy to the rescue
To please our daughter, my boyfriend took her a few times in the evening and she was happy to have a dip and play in the sand. I don't understand why anyone would like to play in that but hey, if she's happy, so am I, lol. This weekend my boyfriend proposed in silence if we'd head down to the beach later. I felt like trying the part where they went to see if my experience was still as bad as last year or now that my knee was a bit stronger, that I'd be able to manage without constantly losing my balance, haha.
Happy kid!
Thankfully, I managed to reach the front of the beach without burning my feet (I did horribly last year in June, so I was surprised this time it was less bad in August) and we dropped our bag and towels to instantly dip in the water. The water was nice and calm on Saturday and I really, really, did I say REALLY? enjoyed the water temperature.
I mostly just sat on my knees letting the waves take me back and forward and just enjoy the sound of the waves. It's so relaxing to listen to the sound. I didn't really swim as I'm not such a fan of the weed a bit further in the sea so we stayed at the first few meters and it was lovely!
Rocky waters
Sunday we repeated it, we went around the same time but it was bloody hot all of the sudden so I already knew I might come home with a sunburn. Thankfully, we came home without, probably because we deliberately waited until after 5 PM when the UV index drops to 4 after being 8-10 the rest of the afternoon. The water was super wild on Sunday and to my surprise the whole beach was covered in weed. You could not enter without manoeuvring through a few meters of that weed which I personally don't really fancy.
Thankfully, my boyfriend didn't mind and stayed in the water with our daughter so I could just chill on the beach. I tried to catch a bit of a tan as I feel after living here 1+ year, I should up my tanning game now that I accepted the beach. It was no biggie that the water was a bit dirty because living here, we still have some more weeks to check the beach before the water will turn a bit colder again.
I hope tomorrow we have another dip!
