I was just ecstatic that I was able to join my colleagues' trip to the northern part of the Philippines specifically in Sagada, Mountain Province. It was a package tour since we are in a tight budget, but off to the north we go.
Sagada, officially the Municipality of Sagada is a 5th class municipality in the province of Mountain Province, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 11,127 people. Sagada is nestled in a valley at the upper end of the Malitep tributary of the Chico River some one and a half
kilometers above sea level in the Central Cordillera Mountains, enveloped between the main Cordillera Ranges and the Ilocos Range.

From Cebu we arrived in Manila around 8:00pm and had our dinner before our van arrives. By around 9:30pm we started our travel and the good thing was, there' s no traffic at all since of course it was night time. We arrived at our hotel at around 10:30am the next day. Yes, travel took 11hrs that includes stopovers and breakfast. As tired as we all are, yet we can't wait for our adventures up ahead. We ate then rested a bit. Our first itinerary was: Sumaguing cave.
Despite of my sensitive knees and as hesistant as I could be, I made myself be up for it...
They call it spelunking: the hobby or practice of exploring caves, as per meriam-webster. It was exhausting yet exciting. It was cold inside the cave and was also slippery. And yes, I endured what we had to go through checking out the cave.
Caving done so we went back to our hotel, freshened up for dinner. We are in the mountains so it's cold and it feels good and refreshing to experience such temperature since living in the city can only be felt when it rains. We were 11 in the group and 5 of us share 1 room.
After, we planned to catch sunrise in the famous Mt. Kiltepan viewpoint and as told, clouds will be beneath you. We slept then and woke up early because we still need to travel going up there. If I remembered it right, the travel took 20-40mins. It was again cold. So we rode the jeepney and arrived there shocked to see a lot of people. It was drizzling and a bit slippery too. We looked for a good spot then we waited for the sun to say hello.</>
After the breath taking view, we took some time to wander around a bit and took some photos.
We just had to experience what it feels like to ride on the top of the jeepney, they call it "toplod" (topload). It was fun!
When we were heading down the hill, it was a rough road. And on the other side was a ravine and it was a bit scary to look at as the jeep trampled on the rocks and we were just up there, holding on tightly for our lives. That was really exciting but scary!
