QUCS can be downloaded at: https://sourceforge.net/projects/qucs/
Components
The component I want to suggest here is to add QUCS simulation that visualizes the circuit in real time mode or simulates using real time scenario.
QUCS software offers a simulation and circuit design. It means that we can create our circuit using this software and the same time we can also simulate the circuit to show the circuit action. QUCS is quite different from other simulation and design software in terms of simulation process. We need to pre-defined simulation type and the tool we are about to used for interpreting the result.
What I figured out is that the length of result in simulation is dependent to the data you have inputted. What I mean is in transient simulation where we need to used the cartesian diagram to interpret the result, we will select the period to display the result and some data are omitted. If we want to see the result of other period, we need to change the inputted period length.
This is the sample simulation result of QUCS using cartesian diagram.
The graph result shows only the data from 0 - 0.01 seconds. Data from other period of time will not be shown.
Proposal
What I am proposing here is to add QUCS simulation an output diagram tool that can show results in real time mode. What I mean of real time is that it will continue to simulate until you stop it. In this case, we can see the result of circuit action in the long run.
This new diagram tool will have a play, pause and stop button.
Mockups / Examples
This is how the suggestion will work if implemented.
New tool will be added to the diagram menu.
If we use this diagram, this what it shows.
Benefits
here are the benefits if implemented.
- A simulation output tool will be added to the diagram menu of QUCS simulation output tool.
- Users can now see the result of action continuously.
- Users can use this feature in troubleshooting base on the action of the circuit.
