My little walk in the woods today ignited some creative ideas and got me excited.

I found a pile of twigs, and on top was a beautiful orange-coloured one.

I couldn’t help myself; I had to pick it up. I thought of an autumn project I could do.

I am currently learning macramé, and I decided to embellish the branch with macramé autumn leaves using some of my cords.

First, I measured the length I wanted the leaves to hang.

For each leaf, I used one long piece and 34 short pieces for the leaf structure.

I folded the long piece.

I folded one short cord in half.
I placed it under the center cord.

Then I threaded the two loose ends through the loop.

I pulled it tight around the center cord.

I repeated this process all the way through, tightening each knot firmly.

Assorted colour.

Then, I combed the ends of the cords to fray them out.

I trimmed the edges into a leaf shape.

I used real leaves roughly as a pattern.

I attached the finished leaves to the branch.

I decided to crochet burgundy flowers for some rich color,

I embellished them with copper-colored pearls.

I first attached the pearls to the branch.

Then I just slipped the flowers in snugly.

I also added some rich green crimped buds for more color.

The burgundy and dark green paired well.

I decided to add swirly knots using half-square knots.

I let the cords hang with knots at the end.

For a little break, I cycled to the village park and picked a few dried flowers to add.

A handful was enough.

I attached them using gathering knots.

Next, I crocheted a pink heart using a macramé cord.

And I attached it to the bouquet, letting it hang so it looks sweet.

And that’s it, done!

Admiring my work this evening.

Welcome Autumn!

Then I hung it by the stairs, where it brightened the space and brought a little reminder of nature’s beauty. It’s a cozy and welcoming touch to our home for the autumn season.

Have a lovely week ahead, everyone.
