These are some select shots from a vacation to St. Thomas in 2017. We stayed for a week on-island and had a wonderful time. The water is so clear with blue and greens you would not believe. The resort was new and the beaches were fine but had no soul. We found that walking just over a hill and going to the beach run by the natives was much more fun and scenic. The St. Thomas folks were customer service oriented, made sure that anyone selling merch was reasonable and not pushy (even ejecting one lady who was super aggressive). If you're on the east coast of the US St. Thomas and St. Johns are very accessible. Your cell service should work just fine there and most transactions are seamless. Like the Caribbean most of the year, the weather cannot be beat. If I recall it bounced between 85 and 75 every day with low humidity.
WARNING: They do drive on the other side of the road on these islands in comparison to the US. You may say to yourself oh, I'll just switch how I think about driving and just do everything opposite. No, that will not happen the few times you drive in a week. You may even find yourself in some scary situations with a lot of horns honking, lol. I would highly recommend a visit, you know when the pandemic is over and use uber.
