Ashamed to be American
by thethinker
I'm ashamed to be American,
I have no points of pride,
We've lost all that we had before,
In this nation where I reside,
The bankers and their politicians,
Have made off with all they could,
They've made a farce of our whole system,
But say that it's all good,
Or take Big Pharma and those alike,
Who have robbed us of our future,
They've left us with a gaping wound,
And charge a fortune for the suture,
But we the people are not guiltless,
Not all blame lies on the elite,
With poor ethics and despondent ways,
Some falls before our feet,
I do not know that there is hope,
That we can make a change,
To unite behind a better system,
That does not seem in range,
Look to the contest of our future leader,
Between a cheetoh and a witch,
The worse of which I do not know,
The prospects are a bi***
