Personal growth was always a passion of mine!
Ever since I read my first Brian Tracy book, I was hooked. The whole concept that we can control our future by working on ourselves, fascinated me.
And I've got the bookshelves to prove it lol I was a student of the industry and soaked up every bit of knowledge I could. Now of course, I traded that all in for a different kind of growth....
Spiritual growth.
Let me share with you a verse that I going to lead me in this blog post idea I have for tonight...
The book of Romans has been called the greatest piece of literature in the new testament. It's Paul's magnum opus if you will. And this verse was always one that I wrestled with.
Let me explain....
When I was in 'personal growth' mode, I had my own business. So I studied entrepreneurship. I wrote about it. I taught it. It was my entire life.
But around the year 2014....God came knocking!
I was baptized in 2016, so if you are keeping score here that is a decade of claiming Christ as my Lord and Savior.
But was He really?
I never mentioned my faith and if I did, I almost hid it. I was so sacred that people would judge me as being a 'crazy Christian', and never want to do business with me....
One glance into my blog posts since I got here was....99% blockchain stuff, and maybe 1% #faith based content.
Once again...I didn't want to rock the boat and didn't want a traditional agnostic crypto community, look at me differently.
I was in fact....Ashamed of the gospel.
Kind of pathetic really because I knew Romans 1:16. And I knew that Christ even said we were never to deny Him. Oh wretched man that I am....
I was trying to please man, and not God.
Fast forward and things have obviously changed. I'd like to tell you it was some great revelation I had at one moment in time, but that wasn't it. I just had enough of being silent.
Now I'm not saying, Hive is a hot bed for religious content. And I'm not saying that everyone will agree with each other when it comes to different faiths.
But I truly do feel comfortable here, talking and sharing testimonies about my walk with Jesus. And the goal, which has always been, even when I was in business...Was for someone to have a break through of some kind.
Maybe they read their #bible a bit more. Maybe they go to church next week. Maybe they write their own faith based content. Maybe they join the Kingdom ..
That's between them and God.
For now, I'm just grateful that I can proclaim from the roof tops...I'm no LONGER ashamed of the gospel!
