I dont know but somehow there is this unspoken deadline that we’re all supposed to be working toward, even if we don’t know it. It’s that by the time we’re 25 or when we get to a certain age, our lives should already be looking like what we have imagined.
I believe at a certain point in time or in life, people should already know what they´re doing with their life, staying fixed in their career path, portray how financially stable they are, at least that shows sense of responsibility they also need to notice how emotionally mature they are, and possibly even be in a serious relationship that is leading toward marriage. That way they understand themselves better and have a higher chance of grabbing a happy life. At least, that’s what it seems like, society is subtly hinting at.
I dont really know who made the rule or why we’re put on a timeline from when we’re young. We have been controlled to do systematic things as a pattern of life e.g, study hard, get good grades, get out of college by the time we’re 22 or 23, get a good job by the time we’re 24 or 25 and then get married by the time we’re 28 or 30, like life is just a fairytale! C’mon there´s more to that.. it doesnt happen that easy for everyone. In our world today, success is depicted as a straight line with milestones that we’re supposed to pass along the way. And if we don’t pass them, then we’re somehow behind, wow! Isnt that crazy? And somehow they keep telling us that we are unique so why do i have to always compete? If a certain setback makes you feel stuck, dont feel bad but ask who is behind exactly?
We’re living in a culture of comparison a planet where all we do is comparing our milestones to those around us and wanting or hoping to do the same even when were not in same field. Yes i know someone got a car by the time they were 23 and another got a startup by the time they were 24 but that doesnt call for pressure, all you need to know is that there is no universal timeline for success, love, stability, or self discovery. Growth does not move at the same speed for everyone! be aware of this and thats the only secret to handle pressure
