The picture I posted is something I have dedicated my life to. The picture states a 30-day challenge, but as I stated this is something I have dedicated my life to doing.
I have been an obese girl for the majority of my life. Obesity runs in my family, on both sides. I have lost many precious and dear to my heart family members because of obesity.
This is me in 2009
My grandmother on my father's side passed on senior year, then my great-grandmother on my mother's side, my senior year. Those losses were major to me, devastating even. My plans were to graduate and move to the country where they both were. They lived around the corner from each other. There was a college not too far from them, so I would have been able to spend the majority of my time with them.
But the Universe had other plans.
THEN....
My father passed on Dec of 2015.....
I miss him dearly.....
I wanted to have children of my own my whole entire life. But until I lost some weight I was unable to have them. My pregnancies were high risk, but I was able to carry them without them having any complications after birth.
Sadly I didn't take any pregnancy pictures because I felt I was too big...
After I had my 2 sons, I vowed to make my life the best it could be, for them. The nasty harmful habits that I grew up with were not going to be shown to my children.
I have lost over 100 pounds and I am not done yet. I know that when I have finalized my weight loss I may need to have surgery. I can already see the sagginess on my body from where the fat was stored. But that is just fine. The fact that I am still here living my life to give the best life for my children is the best gift I could ask for.
I didn't have surgery. I dedicated myself to eating live or fresh fruit and vegetables, and beans. No starches, no cheese, no sweets. It was tough and I didn't beat myself up if I didn't stick to it every day. And excersise. I joined a local gym and lost myself. I dropped my boys off early to daycare so I could go to the gym. 5 days a week I dedicated an hour or more in the gym.
The fact that I made up my mind which told my body and my spirit that I was, I am going to lose the weight and I put in the work to lose weight is AWESOME!
During this process, I have found who I am and what I am placed on this earth to do!
Thank you for stopping by and reading a bit more about me.
I hope this encourages someone! Never give up on the things you want in the life!
