The study of psychology has been undertaken, historically, various points of view. This has been because each era has had a particular way of thinking, its own. A form of thought that comes from its cultural, social, political and historical particularities. This implies that there have been changes in the way of conceiving knowledge, in the postulates that indicate that it is possible for us to realize things and organize a way of conceiving and facing reality.
As we are immersed in a world of information, of words, of thinking, more or less complex, we often do not realize the primordial difficulty of conceiving a system of representation of the world. Because, after all, organizing our thoughts follows some rules and principles of how we conceive reality.
These principles come from our way of facing the fact of existing in the world. It has, therefore, much of our experience, our prejudices and values, widely developed over time, not only by us individually but even by the human species.
Therefore, it is about reflecting on psychology, the task is not entirely easy, because this science studies, among other points, the way of organizing thought about our most immediate reality, about our ability to feel, think, perceive, learn and represent the world and about our way of being in it. Despite our complexity, your study does not have to be impossible, not even be arduous and much less unpleasant. Step by step we will understand the practical meanings of what we say here.
No human knowledge is strange to us in our conversations. Moreover, when that knowledge has to do with the way of being of people, we believe with greater vehemence and with greater property, as we believe. That's why we also have psychologists, according to the most popular meaning.
However, knowing the human being is not a simple task. Because we start from our own reality. The work of psychological understanding, if it aspires to become a science, can not be based on empirical judgments and even less on prejudices, generalities or anecdotal peculiarities. We can not generalize what happened to us or someone we know, as if it were a law of human behavior. The study of psychology is a little more complex.
It will be for this reason that psychology, throughout the history of science, has had different ways of approaching it. Even, the object of this science has undergone modifications. And much less the methods employed, their applications and the ways of understanding as their study as a whole.
