About people subconsciously understand - you are right about that part. They are happy to be blind, so to speak, because then they can't see their own cage. It was really a wake up call, really to see how people really behave under fear and pressure the last few years as a good example.

About space colonies - I think technology will get us there - if they don't send us to the stone age before then - I am hopeful in the long run that humanity will overcome - there is certainly all the things there to do so, with the advent of open source AI etc., - at least knowledge and learning is not controlled like it was in the same way - in the short term however, I do wonder what dark times lay ahead for us.
