Yeah I agree - I think the problem is with scale also, since everything that goes beyond a local level moves beyond community oversight i.e., here in New Zealand we used to have local milk production (1980s), but now it is all shipped to a centralised system (late 1990s) which have massively inflated prices i.e., it used to be harder for local interests who control output and production to be cruel to their fellow community members - as they had to live in that community - I think when everything moves larger than the community (a few thousand in pop) level there are problems with outsourced control by those who never have any interests at heart for anyone but themselves - they are free from any social sigma / i.e., social cost - now everything is in the hands of mega serial killers and the entire system has spiralled out of control - the creatures running things suffer no consequences to their actions at all because they can always walk back into the infinite crowd - society was at a much more healthy stage with local production and lack of centralisation - it is possible that AI might unwind all of this - since, if you could put the knowledge of a million farmers in the hands of one person, they could become greatly empowered - most of power is related to the control of knowledge, to butcher the saying etc., - but soon maybe all those that have that power will be useless to us i.e., doctors etc., - I am not sure what will happen with AI, but it is possible it could be a nightmare but it could also be a nightmare which we wake stronger on the other side of.
