All of us are imperfect in some way. But being content with ourselves doesn’t have to mean that we should stop looking for ways to change and improve. It just means welcoming the small imperfections for what they are, accepting the idea that everything changes, and not letting fixation on flaws stop from embracing who we are.

It's not uncommon to feel discontent with oneself. There is never a time where we are perfect or can do everything right. Appreciate the good qualities you have and focus on appreciating the people who love you most. When someone loves you, they always see the best parts of you and they often compliment your flaws by saying they make them love you more. Give yourself that same warmth and kindness and don't set unrealistic expectations for yourself.

Stop comparing yourself to others

I get it. You're human, and you want to be better than the next guy. I want to be better than the next person too. But almost all of the people who are in your life are doing the same thing you are- trying to be the best. Sure some competitors may have more talent for a certain activity, but there is always someone with more talent and even more disadvantages, who still managed to do it. Really think about this for a second and then appreciate yourself, your personhood, not as much your performance in life. If you want perfection from self, no one is going to give it to you so enjoy what you can do instead of comparing yourself constantly.

When we chase perfection, we are left wondering what the result could have been if only we had done a little more. However, this is not an accurate depiction of ourselves and it leads to self-doubt. To become more confident, you need to focus on your strengths and talents. Look for people who will support you and affirm your ideas instead of looking for people who will criticize you and minimize your opinions. Talking about things that make you feel insecure can give them power over you. Think about the consequences of those conversations before joining in.

In conclusion there's no use in being discontent with yourself because people are always going to care about what you think about them. You might be inflicting your negativity on a person and vice versa.
