I used to ignore the seagulls. After all, I live in a port city and sometimes you wonder who is really the boss here, people, or these brazen feathered raiders who nest even on nuclear icebreakers.

However, walking along the shore of the city lake tonight, I met a fatal beauty. This lady was not like the impudent girls who live in the port. Looking at the sunset in proud solitude, with slightly sad eyes, like Assol, waiting for the appearance of Scarlet Sails on the horizon.

My approach didn't scare her off, but it seems even the opposite. She was glad of the unexpected company, and we began to look at each other with the same curiosity.

I've never seen such strange gulls. She was calmly standing a couple of meters away from me and trying to figure out what I was doing with this black clicking thing in my hands. And I was trying to figure out where a seagull of such a strange color came from here.

Noticing a ring on her paw, I thought it was a pity that this beauty was already married, or rather that I was really looking at a rare species of bird that I had never seen before in these parts for decades. And probably now a group of important scientists is tracking her geolocation using a built-in GPS tracker.

At some point it seemed to me that she was about to tell me her story...but she just flew away.

When I got home, I immediately started looking for information on the Internet. Well, this search didn't take long... It was funny to find out that I met the most typical and most common Black-headed gull- The most numerous species of seagulls on our planet.

After getting acquainted with the halo of habitat, I realized why I've not seen such birds in these parts, it is too cold for them, there are only a few points on the Kola peninsula where they prefer to nest in summer. Maybe I witnessed how these birds are expanding their range, and those same scientists will describe the migration path of this seagull in scientific articles.

I wasn't upset by the routine of my new girlfriend, rather on the contrary, I was pleasantly surprised. This meeting only reminded me that something that is ordinary for you may seem very remarkable and beautiful to another.
