@afrikablr! You met our first 4 curators here.We will continue to invite rolling applications to be part of the ArtSearch Curator Community, so find us in Discord if you want to know more! As a refresher, here's what our Curators will be doing!
(1) They will select 1 (or more) art categories to curate regularly
(2) Every 1-2 weeks depending on agreed upon schedule, they will select 7-10 artists to feature in a post, to be published on @TheNewAlchemist steemit account.
(3) Curators will receive a 50/50 payout split on each post authored.
(4) Although we'll share a common format, we encourage curators to creatively promote their own work, and to write creatively in their own style and language. We hope you will get to know and enjoy the individual perspective of each unique artist we work with!
Apart from the obvious beautification of the environment, I believe art should speak where words can't. Art should deliberately address and seek to set straight inordinances in the society. I'll quote the words of Fela Kuti, a Nigerian music legend, as he said in his time when Africa was facing the height of political injustice by saying "Music in our time can't just be for entertainment, we have no choice as musicians but to speak for the voiceless masses against this wickedness"
Culture on the other hand is what gives each of us our identity. It's preservation over centuries has kept the world in balance. Culture covers the widest range of things, from brushing your teeth to people getting married, from preferring a specific set of meals to festivities. It is the reason why we haven't lost our sanity. We must continue to pridefully uplift our culture to save generations to come.

The purpose of a curator is to choose a particular post to upvote by way of assessing the post in terms of quality and benefits to others. I see out there a lot of art from artists who have incredible work, but because of the lack of attention to detail, their work is less appreciated. It is the duty of a curator to make their work appreciated.
I love that @Alhidayat isn't afraid to dive into projects in any language in order to connect with fellow artists. I appreciated his simple post, and his incredible community organizing skills in our Discord.

El termino Curador es una designación bastante grande, y hasta ambiciosa, se necesita de muchísima preparación y conocimiento en las distintas áreas y tendencias del arte en general, así como también experiencia y herramientas técnicas que aseguren una verdadera valoración del bien artístico. Sin embargo, considero que el arte es un estilo de vida, es un reflejo del autor, un mundo donde se generan muchas cosas para dejarle a la sociedad, yo creo en eso, y desde esa base, y desde mi experiencia, construiría mi aporte para que se valore y aprecie el trabajo y pensamiento del artista. Considero también que el arte se disfruta plenamente cuando lo compartimos y le dejamos algo de nosotros a otros, bien sea con consejos, apreciaciones y otras perspectivas.
ENGLISH TRANSLATION: The term "Curator" is a fairly large designation, and even ambitious, it requires a lot of preparation and knowledge in the different areas and trends of art in general, as well as experience and technical tools that ensure a true appreciation of the artistic good. However, I believe that art is a way of life, it is a reflection of the author, a world where many things are generated to leave society, I believe in that, and from that base, and from my experience, I would build my contribution so that the work and thought of the artist is valued and appreciated. I also believe that art is fully enjoyed when we share it and leave something of ourselves to others, whether with advice, appreciations and other perspectives.

Art has been in my life since I was a little child. My father was a great professor and an innovator artist. His creations were always ahead of everything. It allows me to see the world in another perspective, driving me to study deeply and practice each discipline of art. With that knowledge I was in charge of gallery for many years, there I learned more about colors, structures, authors and trends, everything related to museology.
Art is the tool to be a better person, throught that culture gets more trascendental values which can not be destroyed easily. A brush, pencil and books teach more than weapons. This is why we must promote art and stimulate in a positive way the creativity in the world everyday.
