The forests of Alberta still throw me off. Being from the east coast of Canada and also living for a bit on the far west coast, this skinny, spread-apart type forest is just strange.
Evergreens I understand, this deciduous stuff totally throws me off!
Oh look! A spruce! LoL
Nonetheless it's so super cool to walk through!
We headed out, 4 adults and 5 kids, you can be assured someone was crying within 3 minutes! We had a good walk though and I found some cool things out there as well!
Some neat looking fungus, not sure what it's called, maybe one of you know the name :)
We also came across this tree where something has made its home.
Including a pile of pine cones they've gathered up for winter!
Loonie the one eyed cat decided to show off his tree climbing skills! He rocks! He was up and down in about 15 seconds LoL
I love this moss, it's such a pretty sea foam green colour. It's hard to tell how pretty it is in the pictures though!
Not sure what this is:
I'm thinking maybe a fungus or a tree burl.
And whatever plant this is it's made so many fluffy seeds! Neat! :)
And my favourite find:
It's a tumbleweed!!!
It blew across our path as we were walking. I remember the first time I saw one, I giggled my ass off!!! I thought it was the funniest thing! Like it was more suited to a cartoon than real life LoL
There was a big one that was still rooted in the sand too!
And you can be sure Loonie and Houdini followed us every step of the way!
Have you taken a walk lately? :)
