Oh god, please don't give me PTSD from that time I made a fanpage for the band I was Stanning in high school, then my friend somehow managed to get access, and replaced it all with embarrassing pictures of me lol
Anyway, yeah - I enjoy the little homepage concept.
To be fair, I don't think FB/Insta/etc are bad by default. I really enjoyed FB in its early days, it felt like you had a one-stop-shop to everyone's personal stuff. A select few people still choose to use it that way.
It's the fact that the focus is now on ads and outreach.. the space has become nauseously "normalized".
Meaning... rather than a peek into your life, I feel like I'm getting watercooler conversation and "look, I'm having fun too!" stuff.
I used to love shitposting from my personal account, but it's become such a space that umm... it's just not fir for that. If you want to shitpost, you basically need to make an alt. The edge doesn't sit well with FB's community standards.
PS. Hi there :) Funny how you brought me to this post and we meet here again without me tagging you...
