Web 3 I think is thrown around without much understanding of what it really is about. It's also a made up word that has no real reference to anything, as such.

The key thing I think Web 3 represents though is ownership, this is the clear separation between Web 2 and Web 3. Web 3 isn't owned by some central authority. You know what you produce is yours and not really owned by someone who can just disable your account because they decided they didn't like what you had to say. This is really just my take on Web 3, like I said someone just started calling shit Web 3 and others followed, but there was no real decision on what it means, they just say blockchains!

As for onboarding, STEMGeeks uses HiveOnboard which was the brainchild of @roomservice during the first STEMGeeks Hackathon. In fact it won first place. From what I have heard, Web 2 signups is a feature coming to HiveOnboard sometime in the future.

While HiveOnboard has greatly simplified signups, it is frequently out of accounts.
