Any custodial concerns on the sidechain would be just as much a concern as they would be on the mainnet, if the mainnet supported any kind of custodial system at all, which it doesn't.

Anything custodial does incur problems attempting to decentralize it. The best solution is likely a multisig solution, something Hive supports but is rarely ever used due to complexity and lack of tooling. Be that as it may, my point is the Hive Engine Witnesses doesn't do nearly as much as being pitched and even if it did, there are other issues that break that down. As @jarvie said, I've been pretty quiet as I don't see much of a point of speaking up.

We have a similar problem with simple things as the domain name and hosting for Hive.io.

The "p2p" on hive-engine is the best you can hope to do with a system like this.
