Sometimes it's nice when things just work out. That's not always the case though. You may have to work at them for a while, but eventually you break through and start making progress. Have you ever seen the Youtube videos of the puzzle boxes? Some of them can get crazy, like this one that the poster claims was $10,000!

I like playing Sudoku from time to time. Mostly I play when I'm on planes because I like the distraction from the fact I'm in a metal tube shooting through (sub)space at 500 miles per hour. Oh, and I only use the physical books, none of this garbage where you play on your phone. What happens to your phone when you can't get a charger? Yeah, the batteries on my book never went out. But I digress.

One of the things I like about Sudoku is that you have to look for patterns. You have to find what could be there even if it's not immediately obvious. You can end up stuck for a while, but eventually if you keep filling in some of the blanks, the picture becomes clear. Often times the end of the game speeds up quickly as the numbers start falling into place.

Life is like that too. Sometimes you don’t get very far, but often you will break through eventually if you keep going. I once saw a sign that said, “If you’re tired of starting over, stop giving up.”
