This IS significant but I wonder if it is not fraught with danger for the recipient couple. Once the mother knows and 'identifies' with the donor of the sperm... the chances of attraction and emotional connection to the biological father of her child may pose problems for the couple. Not so?

As the man in the couple I would see the risk. Perhaps it is just me. I would love to have a woman's opinion on this and especially a mother.
