This brought a tear to my eyes when I heard it. It reminded me of how happy I was when it first came out. I just turned 71 last October. The song is genius for so many reasons. When I listen to it, I remember the beautiful memories in the 70s that swirl around inside my head. It was a different time in a different life oh, I wish I was there again.

How can one song make you feel good for 43 years?? Great music like this can soothe the soul...

This song has everything....percussion, vocals, electric & acoustic guitars, bass, piano, cello and saxophone. Indeed a masterpiece....
i love reading peoples responses to music ... often gaining better insights into my own response to a particular melody. methinks another oldy from the 70's but maybe a female artist this time.

According to Janis in her autobiography, she wrote the lyric about the gay men's bathhouse scene in New York. Also, when she went to record this song with Giorgio Moroder, she sang only two takes - Moroder was going to use the first take until Janis insisted she'd only been warming up. I think it sounds pretty damn good though.

This song is even more relevant today with Tinder and hook up culture. "Run too fast/Fly too high/Got no past/ No Goodbye and "Anonymous Autonomous will likely get the best of us yet" ; very prescient.
I really , for my sanity sake, need to end off with some rock... and s few related comments.

Every year on the last day of school my dad would bring his Alice Cooper CD and we would circle the school, windows down, blasting this song. It always kind of embarrassed me; I would hunch down in my seat, but I also secretly loved it. Every year on the last day when he’d pick me up I’d ask if he remembered to bring his Alice Cooper CD. He did, without fail. He passed away when I was 14, 10 years ago. Flash forward to two years ago: I’m graduating from college. Even though it was an exciting day for me, I couldn’t help feel sad that my dad wasn’t able to be there. After the ceremony, I’m driving myself home. This song comes on the radio and within a second I’m in tears. I’ve never been one to believe in signs, or at least I’ve never thought that anything was a clear sign from my dad. But I know that was him letting me know that he WAS with me that day, on my final last day of school.

EVERY YEAR....my Dad would blast this whilst pulling me from my bed, by the ankles, on the first day of break!! I lost him 10 years ago to lung cancer. Sure wish I could sing this with him one more time.💜
Okay, thats it... happy easter for those who celebrate it... stay safe, stay free and keep stacking those sats !!!
