Many months ago, back when we only had the 'FIRED' blockchain (as you call it) a new feature called 'Communities' was added. Communities were created by individuals for various topics from Photography to Cooking to Politics.
On the HIVE.BLOG front-end to the Hive blockchain as well as other front-ends, only articles you post to your own blog page show up under 'BLOG,' while 'POSTS' show all things you have posted within Communities as well as your own blog page.
It works this way on HIVE.BLOG as well as other front-ends to the Hive blockchain. The difference is not what front-end you use, but whether you posted to your blog ~or~ a Community.
Many of us make an effort to ensure that what we post in Communities also appears on our 'Blog' page to make it easier for folks. I do it simply because I don't want people to miss one of my posts in the manner that you missed some of DeerJay's.
As a little aside, you stated that you: "only use hive.blog." That's perfectly fine, if that is what you like. HIVE.BLOG is like the old, reliable farm truck on the 'LASSIE' TV show. The other front-ends I have seen are more akin to modern Ford F150 or Dodge Ram trucks: bigger beds, power steering, 4-wheel drive, air conditioning, and a good stereo.
I use PEAKD because I can save drafts of several posts, set up/use templates in posts, quickly include Community posts in my own blog, automatically schedule a post to publish at a particular date/time, see my wallet without having to login a second time, see all my delegations from within the wallet, make a delegation within the wallet, see all my Hive-Engine tokens within the wallet without having to login to Hive-Engine, bookmark favorite posts, set up lists of favorite authors and favorite tags in addition to my 'following' list, filter-out reblogs when viewing people's pages, view analytical information about my account, and so much more. PEAKD has been in existence for over two years and I only go back to the old farm truck (HIVE.BLOG) when I simply have to do so.
